MIDIART Found Useful to the Hearing
Impaired...
The following is an interesting excerpt of an
e-mail message the author received from
a MIDIART user:
Subject: Nice software
"I downloaded your MIDIART software a few
weeks ago. It's very entertaining but it is also very useful in
different ways. My younger brother is deaf. I put headphones on
him and turned the volume up all the way and he was able to feel
the vibrations and see music for the first time ever! I think
your program has brought to him the true meaning of music. I
compressed it and put it on a floppy disk for his class at
school. They were very excited. The teacher has already seen
changes in the way that they react to music. This can also lead
to the way deaf people think. I think your program had done more
for the deaf population than any other software made and I
encourage you to make your program more available. A good idea
would be to establish a web site with keyword deaf or disabled so
people can download your software. Thank you for taking the time
to read this letter."
If you are hearing impaired, or know someone who
is, be sure to let them know about MIDIART. They may be able to
benefit from the enhanced experience of "seeing" the
music.
